Michael Render is president of Render, Vanderslice & Associates, the premier U.S. market research firm in the area of fiber-to-the-home and fiber-to-the-premises. Render Vanderslice & Associates has a 30-year history of diverse market research service. Render has overseen a census of North American FTTH deployments for each of the last three years and has been quoted in national publications such as Business Week and The Wall Street Journal. Render is a frequent speaker at conferences dealing with FTTH/FTTP, and has been invited to update officials at the Federal Communications Commission and other federal agencies regarding the progress of the technology. Render has several articles published on issues related to innovation in the practice of both consumer and business-to-business oriented market research. In addition to his work in broadband, Render has consulted with a wide range of firms ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to promising start-ups. He has served on the board of directors of both non-profit organizations and high technology corporations. In 2005 he received a special Cornerstone Award from Broadband Properties Magazine for his groundbreaking research on FTTH. He is also a contributing editor at Killer App Magazine.
